Favourite Music – Casting Crowns – Lifesong

Another favourite song from another favourite artist.  I only found Casting Crowns this past year, and they have already shot up to my top 10 artist list!

Amazon.com: Lifesong: Casting Crowns: Music.

Lifesong is one of the first songs by Casting Crowns that I heard.  It’s about making our lives a living sacrifice.

Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet

This is a great message for NeedlePrayer.

I love this group! My favorite song on this album is “Praise You in This Storm,” but they all seem to speak to me.

It’s time for me to start using music while I craft. I think it will help me when I get distracted by the work and don’t seem to have the concentration to pray and run the sewing machine at the same time, or feel like I’ve run out of things to pray about (how can that be??) while doing handwork. If my mind wanders, I can bring it back by singing (praising) along a little while.

I continually am amazed at the quality of the lyrics–poetry– in songs people write (and occasionally embarrassed by the poor quality that slips into church music) . As a musician, writer and sometimes poet, I “ought” to be writing songs, but this is an area I have not yet attempted. Perhaps I need a creativity bucket list?

There are just too many ways to be creative and no enough energy to engage in them all! What a joyful dilemma!

    • I’m actually planning to write on “Praise You In This Storm” in the future 😉

Yes, I find it helps me in exactly that way to have music on! But not just any music – music that speaks to me about what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, who I’m doing it for. That’s what I’m hoping to share with these reviews.

If you (any of you) would like to share reviews, I’d love to post them! Just go to the NeedlePrayer and You page and contact me.

      Create, Rhe! Isn’t it great?!
