Keep pursuing the God…

“Keep going.
  Keep believing.
Keep pursuing the God who never stops pursuing you.”

Keep following that dream, that voice, that gives us joy and purpose!

We all have to come…

“… we all have to come to a point when we’re ready to stop simply dreaming and begin doing. In other words, “Faith without deeds is useless” (James 2: 20).”

It’s important to take the step from dreaming to commitment, to action, to putting ourselves on the line.  For me, it took someone else telling me that my dream was important.  (Thanks, pastor Tim!)  What do you need to start putting your dream into action?

At first we catch…

“At first we catch just a glimpse of our dream. It’s vague and blurry. Perhaps a conversation draws our attention or a surprisingly compelling idea pops into our minds in the shower. Slowly that outline begins to fill with more color and detail. Over time we begin to see it, really see it.”

From my morning readings in “You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream”, by Holley Gerth.

I’ve been sharing some of the process of my dream as I get the outlines down.  I invite you to share some of yours, here or anywhere else you choose.  Sharing it helps it come alive!

I am created and called…

“We all start with a common foundation based on Galatians 5: 6: I am created and called to express my faith through love . . .”

But from that common foundation there are so many ways to go!  Don’t feel like you have to follow someone else’s lead exactly.  While a dream may benefit from growing on what others have done, it can die from not allowing your individuality through!

What you’re doing today…

“What you’re doing today may not feel like enough. But if you’re simply saying yes to Jesus and whatever he asks, then it is more than enough— it’s world changing. And so are you.”

From my morning readings in “You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream”, by Holley Gerth.

Even when it doesn’t feel like enough.  Even when you can’t actually DO anything.  If you are following Him, you are giving your best.  And it can only grow if you stay with it!

The temptation…

“the temptation is to make our dreams about proving that we are enough, and then they become about us. But when we begin from a place of love, belonging, and acceptance, our dreams are about the One who calls us.”

From my morning readings in “You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream”, by Holley Gerth.

I struggle with this.  I don’t _feel_ like I’m enough, and I need to prove it, not to others, but to myself.  What draws me on in my faith, though, is the idea that I _am_ enough for God, that He loves me, that I belong amongst His children, and that I can begin to accept myself.

Thank you, Father, for helping me with this and allowing me to make my dream ever more about Your work and less about me.

God-sized dreams aren’t one size fits all…

“God-sized dreams aren’t one size fits all. You and your God-sized dream are perfectly paired by the One who created you both.”

From my morning readings in “You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream”, by Holley Gerth.

Even identical twins are unique.  God made us this way.  Don’t let others force your dream to look like theirs.  I have my own unique dream, and it has its own unique place in God’s plan.  What’s yours?
